Contact & support
There is one address and it is not a routing menu. Whether you have found a bug, cannot get a subscription to restore, want to know exactly what the app sends over the network, or think a note came out wrong, write to [email protected] and someone who works on the app will read it. We aim to reply within two business days. We answer in English and German.
Before you write, in case it is quicker
A few things come up often enough that the answer is already written down. The questions section on the home page covers whether the audio really stays on the device, why the app needs a connection on first launch and never again, how the two-speaker separation behaves when a third person is in the room, what happens to your notes if a subscription lapses, and what it costs.
- Purchases, renewals and refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. You can see your history, cancel a subscription, or request a refund through your App Store account and at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue a refund on Apple's behalf — but if something is broken, tell us anyway and we will fix it.
- Restoring a purchase on a new device: install notavik, open the paywall, and choose Restore. Your purchase is tied to the Apple ID that made it.
- How the app handles data is set out in full in the Privacy Policy, including the complete list of the three destinations the app ever contacts.
- Billing and licence questions are covered in the Terms of Use.
Please leave patient information out
Never send us patient information. Do not paste a transcript, a note, or the contents of a visit into a support email, and do not attach a recording or a backup file. We do not need any of it, we do not want it, and email is not a safe place for it.
Describe what happened instead — what you tapped, what you expected, and what the app did. That is enough for us to work with in almost every case.
If you write to us from inside the app, notavik pre-fills a short technical block with the app version, your iOS version, your device model and your app settings. It deliberately contains no visit content, no dates and no identifiers, and you can read and delete it before sending.
Reporting a problem well
The most useful bug report tells us three things: what you were doing, what you expected to happen, and what happened instead. If you can add your iPhone model and iOS version, and whether the phone was locked or the app was in the background at the time, that usually gets us to the cause without a second round of questions.
If a transcript or a note came out badly, tell us the conditions rather than the content: the language of the visit, whether more than two people were speaking, whether there was background noise, and roughly how long the recording was. That is what we need to reproduce the problem, and none of it identifies anyone.
Security reports
If you believe you have found a security or privacy issue in notavik, we would very much like to hear about it. Write to [email protected] with "security" in the subject line and we will prioritise it. Privacy is the whole premise of this app, so a credible report is urgent for us, not a nuisance.
Who we are
notavik is built and published by Vast Flow. The app runs entirely on your iPhone: there is no server, no account system and no analytics, which also means there is no support team sitting on a database of your visits. When you write to us, we know only what you tell us.
